Project Structural Engineer

Due to a healthy forward workload, we are currently looking to appoint a Senior/Project Structural Engineer to join the Stirling Office.

The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work in a growing Engineering Consultancy working for clients on a variety of projects spanning commercial, retail, residential and industrial sectors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technical lead on projects large and small.
  • Liaise with and lead other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the Clients objectives.
  • Structural engineering assessment and inspection of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
  • Undertake analysis and design using a range of software packages including Tekla Structural Designer and Tedds.
  • Ensure that quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports etc.) is maintained.
  • Prepare high quality technical reports including structural surveys.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Working towards Chartered or near Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE).
  • Varied experience in all the common forms of construction and building types.
  • Experience in the use of Eurocodes.
  • Excellent report writing, communication and numerical skills required.
  • Experience of structural analysis design and software essential.
  • Min of 3 years’ experience.
  • Full clean driving license.

Structural Technician

Due to a healthy forward workload, we are currently looking to appoint a Structural Technician to join the Stirling office.

The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects spanning the retail, logistics, residential and commercial.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Provide detailed structural drawings in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber in AutoCAD software packages.
  • Liaise with other members of staff and the design team.
  • Maintain and promote DRGCS Technical standards.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • A consultancy background is essential, with a proven track record in delivering high standards of draughtsmanship.
  • Strong AutoCAD software skills essential with communication and numerical skills.
  • Flexible and enthusiastic approach to working within a team structure.
  • Confidence and ability to maximise the level of responsibility taken on projects, small and large.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HNC/HND Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Due to a healthy forward workload, we are currently looking to appoint a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Stirling office.

The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects spanning the retail, logistics, residential and commercial.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Take ownership and pride in the work being delivered by the team.
  • Bring original thought and challenge to engineering problems.
  • Review documents, designs and drawings completed by team to ensure consistent high quality and compliance with design standards, industry best practice, contractual obligations and client expectations.
  • Deliver work in compliance with Health and Safety legislation and Quality Management procedures.
  • Liaison with Clients and stakeholders and other relevant third parties.
  • Manage projects, providing support, mentoring and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
  • Ability to take initiative and manage own workload/deadlines.
  • Proven reporting and communication skills will be required, together with an ability to work as part of a team.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Ideal candidates for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer position will have a minimum of five years’ experience with an aspiration to gain Incorporated or Chartered status.
  • Experience in highway and drainage design with a working knowledge of UK design standards is needed, together with the ability to balance several projects and meet project timetables. We currently have a varied workload ranging from large scale developments in the commercial sector and residential schemes of varying scales, from pre-planning through to construction so the candidate would need to show experience in highways, external works and drainage for these types of projects.
  • Candidates should have private sector experience and a working knowledge in the use of PDS / Civil 3D, together with Flow, Autocad and Autotrack.

    SER Certifier

    DRGCS has an opening for a part-time or full-time experienced SER Certifier to join the Stirling team to work on a variety of commercial and residential projects.

    Individuals are required to be of Chartered Engineer status with either the Institution of Structural Engineers or the Institution of Civil Engineers. They are required to have a minimum of 5 years’ post-chartered experience and be an approved certifier of design, registered with the Structural Engineers Register Ltd.

    The successful applicant will be expected to undertake SER Certification on all types of commercial and residential projects. Excellent communication skills will be required to allow effective teamworking with the technical design team and clients. A good understanding of building regulations, technical standards, design management and construction processes is essential to allow confident interacting with all of the design team.
